Bio
Arunà Canevascini (*1991), lives and works between Fribourg and Ticino (Switzerland).
Arunà Canevascini is a visual artist. She explores different mediums such as photography, sculpture and video. After obtaining a federal certificate in photography at CEPV (Vevey) and a BA in Visual Communication at ECAL (Lausanne), she continues her studies at the HKB (Bern) where she is actually finishing her MA in Contemporary Art Practice.
Her work has been presented amongst others in: Unseen Festival, Amsterdam (NLD); Festival Circulations, Paris (FR); Swiss Photo Award, Zürich (CH); Swiss Design Award, Basel (CH); Benaki Museum, Athens (GRC); Fri-Art Kunsthalle, Fribourg (CH); Pasquart, Bienne (CH); Photo London (GBR); ArteBa, Buenos Aires (AR); PhotoBookFest, Moscow (RUS); Goa Photo, Saliago (IND).
She has been rewarded with different awards: Young Swiss Artist BNP Paribas (2021); Shortlist, Prix Photoforum Pasquart (2021); Book Award of La Fabrica and Photo London ( 2018); «One to Watch», British Journal of Photography (2017); Shortlist, Swiss Design Award (2017) and VFG Nachwuchförderpreis (2016).
