Bio
Kevin Eason (b. 1978) is a Swiss-based British visual artist. He produces photographs, paintings, drawings, videos, text, and mixed-media works. His influences and sources are diverse, encompassing water systems, Antarctica, ocean trash, data streams, screengazing, modern accelerators, and environmental concerns.
In the late 90s, Eason studied Fine Art at Northbrook’s Union Place under the guidance of British painter and poet Gary Goodman. In the early 2000s, he studied Photography at the University of Brighton, where he was a student of Spanish photographer Xavier Ribas. Following his BA, he maintained an active art practice, exhibited at The Royal Beatrice Gallery, Crane Kalman, and his Swiss Passport Portraits were published in Olu Michael Odukoya’s Kilimanjaro magazine. He also collaborated with architects on various community projects, and spent several years meticulously engineering and building a custom camera apparatus.
He lived in Brighton for many years, then in Berlin, before relocating to Zurich, Switzerland, in 2017, a city and country he has photographed and visited annually since the late 90s. From 2019 to 2022, he was enrolled in the Master's program in Contemporary Art Practice at HKB (University of the Arts Bern). While at HKB, he developed his ideas and works through discussions with mentors including photographer Renate Buser, artist Andrea Gohl, literary scholar and author Thomas Strässle, art critic Hans Rudolf Reust, and philosopher and cultural theorist Sadie Plant.
He has maintained an active art practice since the late-90s and has exhibited in the UK, Spain, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and South Korea.
