Biography

Samina Sofia Molfetta, is a Greek-Swiss artist, based in Bern, who studied classical singing at the ZHdK University of the Arts Zurich and continued the singing education in Vienna, Austria. Drawing from an artistic background as a classical and greek traditional singer, Samina has developed a unique way of exploring spaces and sites, connecting to other art forms through body and voice. Her artistic practice meanders within the fields of music, performance art, sound art, visual art, where she seeks transdisciplinary and collaborative connections. The focus of her work falls on sociopolitical and interpersonal issues and is distinguished by an arc embracing melancholic absurdity.

Outsider amidst the crowd, spectator with a limited view, a positioned perspective.

The chorus, trapped between gazing eyes, finds moments of connection, strength and togetherness. īrıs, meanders – once ensnared, once entangling – to deliver the message.
